Solicitors and barristers have duties to “act with independence in the interests of justice<\/u>“.<\/span>

When lawyers hold public office, they are expected to uphold the principles of justice, fairness, and the rule of law.<\/span>

<\/span>If a politician, who is also a lawyer, issues a false statement or deliberately ignores a violation of the law, thereby betraying the public’s trust, what consequences might they face?<\/span><\/span>

They must act in the public interest and demonstrate a commitment to serving the community. <\/span><\/h6>\n
Additionally, they are often bound by codes of conduct and ethical guidelines specific to their profession.<\/span>
